This Privacy Policy explains how Stonepaw, LLC ("Stonepaw", "we", "us"), the developer and operator of Last Line: Survival (the "Game"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you when you download, play, or otherwise interact with the Game on iOS or Android, and when you contact our support team.
It applies to the Game and to any related services we operate, including our game servers, our support email, and this website. It does not apply to the app stores through which you obtain the Game, or to any third-party service you choose to use separately — those are governed by their own policies.
For any question about this Policy, about the information we hold about you, or to exercise any right described in Section 16, contact us at:
We aim to respond to privacy requests within 30 days. If we need longer (for example, because a request is complex), we will tell you why and when to expect a response.
On first launch, the Game presents this Policy and asks you to accept it before any analytics data is collected. By playing the Game you acknowledge that you have read this Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not play the Game, and you may delete it from your device.
Some processing is necessary simply to run the Game — for example, saving your camp so it still exists tomorrow. Other processing, such as analytics, is opt-in and can be withdrawn at any time in the Game's Settings.
| Category | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account & profile | Display name, chosen avatar and frame, optional gender, country/region flag | Identify you to other players |
| Account recovery | Email address and password, if you choose to link one | Restore your camp on a new device |
| Age confirmation | Year of birth, entered once | Age-gate chat and social features |
| Communications | Messages in world, alliance and direct chat; player reports | Deliver chat; investigate reports |
| Support | Your message and any diagnostics you attach | Answer your request |
Linking an email address is optional. If you never link one, we hold no email for you, and your account is tied only to the device identifier described below. We do not use third-party or social sign-in, so we never receive a profile from another network.
We store only the year you enter at the age gate and the fact that you passed it — not a full date of birth.
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Game state | Your camp, buildings, survivors, resources, alliance membership, progression, purchases and entitlements |
| Device & technical | Device model, operating system version, app version, language, region, and a randomly generated device/account identifier used to sign you in |
| Analytics (opt-in) | Gameplay events such as tutorial steps completed, features opened, milestones reached, and purchase outcomes |
| Crash & error reports | Crash stack traces, error messages, device state at the time of the fault, app version |
| Push token (if enabled) | A device push token issued by Apple or Google |
We do not collect precise location. We do not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera. We derive an approximate country/region from your device settings and store the flag you display on your profile.
We receive purchase receipts and transaction identifiers from Apple and Google to validate purchases and grant items. We receive aggregated, non-identifying crash and performance data from the diagnostics providers named in Section 9.
The Game itself does not use cookies. It is a native mobile application, not a web page, and it does not embed a browser for tracking purposes.
The Game does use mobile SDK identifiers that are functionally similar: a randomly generated account identifier that signs you in, and identifiers used by our diagnostics and messaging SDKs (Section 9). These are not advertising identifiers. We do not access the iOS Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or the Google Advertising ID, and the Game does not present App Tracking Transparency prompts, because it performs no cross-app tracking.
This website (lastlinegame.com) serves static pages and does not set tracking cookies.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling for marketing, or automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR / UK GDPR:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Running the Game, saving progress, delivering purchases | Performance of a contract |
| Analytics and crash reporting | Consent (opt-in; withdrawable at any time) |
| Push notifications | Consent (device permission; withdrawable at any time) |
| Anti-cheat, anti-fraud, chat moderation, rate limiting | Legitimate interests in keeping the Game fair and safe |
| Age gating and child-safety measures | Legal obligation and legitimate interests |
| Responding to lawful requests, defending claims | Legal obligation / legitimate interests |
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
These are the third parties that may process information on our behalf, and what each is used for. Each links to its own privacy policy.
| Partner | Used for | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase — Analytics | Opt-in gameplay analytics | firebase.google.com |
| Google Firebase — Crashlytics | Crash and error reporting | firebase.google.com |
| Google Firebase — Cloud Messaging | Delivering push notifications | firebase.google.com |
| Apple — App Store, StoreKit, APNs | Purchases, receipt validation, iOS push delivery | apple.com |
| Google Play — Billing | Purchases and receipt validation on Android | policies.google.com |
| DigitalOcean | Hosting our game servers and databases | digitalocean.com |
| Unity Technologies | Game engine and in-app purchasing components | unity.com |
All in-app purchases are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your payment card number, billing address, or any other payment credential — those remain with the platform and its payment processors.
What we do receive is a purchase receipt or transaction identifier, which our servers validate with Apple or Google in order to grant your items, restore previous purchases on a new device, and prevent a single receipt being redeemed more than once. We retain these transaction records as described in Section 12, including where needed to handle refunds, chargebacks and tax obligations.
If you grant notification permission, we may send you reminders tied to your camp — for example that a build has finished or a shield is about to lapse. This uses a push token issued by Apple or Google, and is delivered via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, or in the Game's Settings screen. Withdrawing permission stops delivery; it does not affect anything else about your account.
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Account and game state | While your account exists. Deleted when you delete your account. |
| Chat messages | A rolling window for moderation and abuse investigation, then deleted. |
| Analytics events | Retained in aggregate; individual event records are pruned on a rolling basis. |
| Crash reports | Retained by our diagnostics provider under its own retention schedule. |
| Purchase and transaction records | Retained as required for refunds, chargebacks, accounting and tax — typically several years, as required by law. |
| Support correspondence | Retained while needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. |
When you delete your account, we delete or irreversibly de-identify the personal information associated with it. We may retain a minimal record where we are legally required to — for example, a transaction record for tax purposes, or a record that a specific account was banned for cheating so the ban cannot simply be reset.
Stonepaw, LLC is based in the United States, and our servers and service providers are located in the United States and other countries. If you play from outside those countries, your information will be transferred to and processed there, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or transfers to a country covered by an adequacy decision. You may request details of the safeguards that apply by contacting us at support@lastlinegame.com.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) between the Game and our servers, server-authoritative game state so progress and purchases cannot be altered from a device, access controls on our infrastructure, and regular backups.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any relevant regulator where the law requires it.
The Game is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Chat, public profiles and other social features are gated behind an age check on first use: a player who indicates they are under 13 (or the minimum age required where they live) is blocked from those features.
Some jurisdictions set a higher age of digital consent — up to 16 in parts of the EEA. Where a higher age applies to you, references to 13 above should be read as that higher age.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact support@lastlinegame.com and we will delete it and the associated account.
To exercise a right that is not available in-game, email support@lastlinegame.com. We may need to verify your identity — usually by asking you to send the request from your linked email address, or to provide your in-game player ID — so that we do not disclose or delete someone else's account. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Stonepaw, LLC is the data controller for the processing described in this Policy. Our legal bases are set out in Section 7, and your rights in Section 16. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority; a list of EEA authorities is published by the European Data Protection Board, and UK users may contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 4: identifiers, commercial information (purchase records), internet or other electronic network activity, and, where you choose to provide it, the contents of your communications. The sources, purposes and recipients are described in Sections 4, 6 and 8.
We have not sold personal information, and we have not shared it for cross-context behavioural advertising, in the past 12 months. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. California residents have the rights to know, delete, correct, and to non-discrimination, all of which are described in Section 16 and available to every player regardless of where they live.
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and Texas — have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and profiling. We do not engage in targeted advertising, sale of personal information, or profiling, so no opt-out is required. The remaining rights are exercised as described in Section 16, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response.
We may update this Policy from time to time — for example if we add a feature, or change a service provider. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the change is material, we will give you prominent notice, which may include asking you to review and accept the updated Policy the next time you open the Game.
Your continued use of the Game after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Policy.
This Policy is written in English. Where we provide a translation for convenience and there is any conflict or inconsistency between versions, the English version prevails.
